Our verdict

Why the ADCB 365 Cashback Credit Card ranks where it does

The ADCB 365 Cashback card has some of the highest category rates in the UAE, but only in months when you spend at least AED 5,000 on it. Clear that bar and it pays 6% on dining, including online orders, 5% on fuel and Salik, 5% on home digital entertainment and AI subscriptions, 3% on groceries and 1% on other retail, with a monthly cap of AED 1,000. Miss it and the month earns nothing.

That all-or-nothing rule is the whole decision. A household that reliably puts AED 5,000 a month on one card gets a strong return; one whose spending dips in summer or during travel months will lose entire months of cashback. Bill payments, school fees and transactions through ADCB channels earn nothing.

The card is free in year one and costs AED 383.25 including VAT after that, with no published waiver. At 6% on dining alone, about AED 530 of restaurant spend a month covers the fee over a year. The entry bar is low, a salary of AED 5,000 or eligibility for an AED 3,000 limit, and there is buy-one-get-one at VOX Cinemas, but no lounge access.

Good fit if

  • Households that put AED 5,000 or more a month on one card
  • Frequent diners and drivers who pay Salik
  • Subscribers to streaming and AI services

Skip it if

  • Anyone whose monthly spending sometimes falls below AED 5,000
  • Travellers who want lounge access
Worked example

Assume AED 6,000 a month on the card: AED 1,500 on dining, AED 800 on fuel and Salik, AED 200 on streaming subscriptions, AED 1,500 on groceries and AED 2,000 on other retail. Cashback is AED 90 + AED 40 + AED 10 + AED 45 + AED 20 = AED 205 a month, AED 2,460 a year, well under the AED 1,000 monthly cap. From year two, subtracting the AED 383.25 fee leaves about AED 2,077. We assume every month clears AED 5,000, since a single miss would cost that month's AED 205.

How it stacks up

The HSBC Live+ pays similar dining and fuel rates, 6% and 5%, needs only AED 3,000 a month and adds 12 lounge visits, but caps each category at AED 200 per statement. The FAB Cashback covers groceries and fashion at 5% with the same AED 3,000 bar, which suits families whose biggest bill is the supermarket. ADCB's version rewards the highest monthly budgets best, thanks to its AED 1,000 cap.

The ADCB 365 Cashback Credit Card pays some of the highest category rates in the UAE on dining, fuel and groceries, but only in months when you spend at least AED 5,000 on it. Figures are as of September 2026.
