Die Karte, die viele noch als Barclays Visa kennen, heißt heute easybank Kreditkarte: barclays.de leitet inzwischen auf easybank weiter, die neue Marke für das frühere deutsche Privatkundengeschäft von Barclays. Am Kern hat sich wenig geändert. Es gibt keine Jahresgebühr, Zahlungen sind weltweit auch in Fremdwährung kostenlos, und easybank verlangt keine Abhebegebühr, auch nicht im Ausland; nur einzelne Automatenbetreiber können eigene Entgelte erheben.
Wer den Saldo vollständig begleicht, bekommt bis zu 59 Tage zinsfreies Zahlungsziel. Das ist der eigentliche Vorteil gegenüber einer Debitkarte. Die Kehrseite ist die Teilzahlung: Monatlich fällig sind 3 % des Saldos oder mindestens 30 Euro, und auf den Rest fallen 19,39 % Sollzins an, effektiv 21,21 % im Jahr. Wer die Karte als Kreditrahmen nutzt, finanziert zu einem hohen Zins.
Gegenüber der GenialCard hat die easybank-Karte beim Abheben im Inland die Nase vorn, weil dort keine Gebühr anfällt. Sinnvoll ist sie für alle, die eine kostenlose Visa für Reisen und Online-Einkäufe suchen und den Saldo diszipliniert voll zurückzahlen.

Die Jahresgebühr beträgt 0 Euro, Fremdwährungs- und Abhebeentgelte seitens easybank ebenfalls 0 Euro. Bei einer Karte mit 2 % Auslandsentgelt wären es auf dieselben Zahlungen 50 Euro. Bleiben dagegen 1.000 Euro ein ganzes Jahr in Teilzahlung offen, kostet das bei 19,39 % Sollzins grob 194 Euro. Ein Bonusprogramm fehlt, daher setzen wir keinen Punktwert an.
How it stacks up
Die Hanseatic Bank GenialCard hat mit 18,30 % einen etwas niedrigeren Sollzins, verlangt aber 3,95 Euro für jede Bargeldabhebung im Inland. Die DKB Visa Debitkarte ist mit Aktivstatus im Ausland ebenfalls kostenlos, bietet als Debitkarte aber kein Zahlungsziel. Wer beides will, kostenloses Abheben und echten Kredit, ist bei easybank richtig. Beim Zins ist sie allerdings die teuerste der drei Karten, daher sollte der Saldo immer voll ausgeglichen werden.
