Why the Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card ranks where it does
The Flipkart Axis Bank card is still worth having for Flipkart and Myntra shoppers, but it is no longer the uncapped card it once was. Myntra now earns 7.5% and Flipkart and Cleartrip 5%, each capped at ₹4,000 of cashback per statement quarter, which covers about ₹80,000 of Flipkart spend a quarter. Preferred merchants such as Swiggy, Uber and PVR earn an uncapped 4%, and other eligible spends 1%.
Two changes from June 2025 matter. The four free domestic lounge visits were withdrawn, and the welcome Flipkart voucher fell to ₹250 and applies only to cards issued with a joining fee. The joining fee is currently nil as a limited-period offer; the ₹500 annual fee from year two is waived only above ₹3.5 lakh of annual spend, with rent and wallet loads not counted.
So the fee is a real cost for moderate users. At 5%, ₹10,000 of Flipkart spend a year pays the ₹500 fee; beyond that the card is profit. People who buy mostly on Flipkart, Myntra and the preferred partners come out well ahead. Bill payers get little: utilities, telecom, education, insurance, fuel and rent earn nothing.
Good fit if
- Regular Flipkart and Myntra shoppers
- Frequent users of Swiggy, Uber, PVR and other preferred merchants
- People happy with cashback credited to the statement
Skip it if
- Anyone who wanted the card for lounge access, which ended in June 2025
- Bill payers, as utilities and telecom earn no cashback
Assume ₹6,000 a month on Flipkart, ₹2,000 on Myntra, ₹3,000 at preferred merchants and ₹10,000 of other eligible spends. Flipkart earns 5% (₹300), Myntra 7.5% (₹150), preferred merchants 4% (₹120) and the rest 1% (₹100): ₹670 a month, ₹8,040 a year, all well inside the quarterly caps. Annual spend of ₹2.52 lakh is below the ₹3.5 lakh waiver, so from year two the ₹500 fee plus GST applies, leaving about ₹7,540. Cashback is credited to the statement, so we count it at face value.
How it stacks up
The Amazon Pay ICICI card is the Amazon equivalent with no fee at all, making it the better pick for anyone who splits shopping evenly between the two platforms. The HDFC Millennia pays 5% across ten merchants including both Flipkart and Myntra, but caps that rate at 1,000 points a month. For a shopper who buys mainly on Flipkart and Myntra, the Axis card still earns more.
